Welcome to Detour Company Theatre

Our Mission: provide quality and authentic arts education and performance opportunities for adults with developmental and other challenges,  including deafness, blindness, and autism, through the magic and miracle of theatre.  Founded in 2000, we are a non-profit organization offering  quality performing arts opportunities in greater metropolitan Phoenix Arizona. We invite you to become part of Detour. We have opportunities for everyone, whether you are an actor, designer, or a volunteer looking to work behind the scenes.

This Detour program is made possible in part by a grant from the Scottsdale Cultural Council with funds provided by the City of Scottsdale and a grant from Wells Fargo

Detour participates in their "Cultural Connections Through the Arts" residency program.  The mission of this program is to engage students in unique arts activities inspired by diverse cultures and populations. The program embodies the fundamental goals of "Cultural Connections" by spreading tolerance, multi- cultural understanding, and awareness of global and community perspectives among valley youth.  We will be conducting workshops at local schools, pre-show talks at designated shows and also conduct other events.  We will also be performing both our winter and spring shows at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
